The title may look lame, but there are many things that you can connect and find similarities among humans with books. I wasn’t very much into reading when I was young. I remember my aunt saying right after dinner, “Read books, that will help you”. The advice gives you inspiration for seconds and gets evaporated right. As a Naval says,

It expired right after a tight sleep. I used to read Supandi stories and some comic stories in Tinkle. Some books are named Ashley, and I don’t remember the book or the story. Now, coming back to the title, why I wanted to bring out the similarities between humans and books.
Every human we meet doesn’t have to stay with us till eternity. You might wonder, how about life partners and parents too?
We don’t spend much time around each other. Perhaps Asians spend less time alone than people in Western countries. To make decisions and detachment smoother, each person can be compared to a book.
Parents and relatives are like compulsory subject books. Certain subjects inspire or motivate you like self-help books others traumatize you*.
School and college friends* are merely like comic books, especially like Supandi. At any age, you pick them, they make you laugh and give the same vibe.
Some people will stay in your life by looking at the shiny hardcover and failing to look any further. They just keep you on their bookshelf for display. While some judge you by appearance. While on the other hand, people judge you based on the cover.
People we meet at cafés, parks, or even at parties are comparable to books at the store. When you look too deeply inside what lies beneath the hardcover, a few chapters may be interesting, but as it unfolds, we tend to lose interest.
There are possibilities of meeting people who are hard as books on Quantum mechanics or Codes. Nothing will ever be understood, no matter how hard you try. It could be your manager too (lol, jk).
Some will enter your life solely to elevate, improve, shape, and mold you through their actions, just as atomic habits do. It doesn’t have to be one particular person. They can be your friends, your role model, your unmeet mentor, or anyone who comes to your while reading this.
It’s hard to live a life without enemies. They test you, fight your fears and beliefs, criticize you, and so on. They either break us or force us to discover who we are. I am sure there will be books related to these enemies that have had a significant impact on you and your beliefs or have even changed you as a person. I would personally say Siddhartha and Eleven Minutes. They created a huge impact on me. The word “enemy” is subjective. For some, it’s a person, for others it’s a belief system, and it depends.
Autobiographies are similar to seniors in high school or colleagues at work. They help and guide us the entire time, telling us all the tricks, revealing their failures, and assisting us in climbing the mountain. Sometimes they act like a manual for the experiment called “Life”
Specific people can be compared to crime or thriller novels. They try to bring out the worst in you or to haunt you like hell.
A few will enter your life to clear the storm, bring you back from the brink of extinction, break your existential crisis, and give you the rationale to live your life stronger. Veronika decides to die, and some dead philosophers were the means of my survival.
Then comes the people with who you fall in love. They take you to all the fantasy worlds and take a roller coaster ride with your estrogen levels. They are fiction novels where that make you feel as if you’re on another planet with no problems like inflation, gas prices, etc. The possibilities of getting sunk and wet are high. You lose yourself since love is blind (IYKYK)!
The final group of books that I want to talk about is uncategorized people in our lives. We have no idea why we keep them, why we read a few pages, and so on. Simply keep a bookmark and place it in the cupboard so that no other page can harm anyone.
*- Not all
Have a great week ahead! Cheers!
PS: Well, ping me if any kinds of books/humans need to be added. The current read is Becoming!
