With the era of AI and the Instagram trends rising every week, there are new videos, edits and photographs popping up. I am not very well educated about the editing apps and the AI. All I knew was this Midjourney?
I always had a notion that we (humans) would be able to predict or differentiate the AI slop from real photos and videos. Then there was this one incident where a set of images actually taken by humans looked like AI. I am not sure if they were edited that way. Felt like a setback.
Even the platforms are guessing I think. When you post a real image, Meta labels it as AI. I am not sure if I am understanding the backstage of it. Most of the time, we don’t zoom into picture. Just a scroll up. No skepticism in vacation photos, food or health related ones. We remember the one that catch our eye and miss the rest.
With all these feeds of AI slop across social media, will the brain still be able to identify and differ? With writing, it is easier to identify. Maybe once we get used to it, we will? Or will AI keeping pushing the boundaries?
